Deborah J. Dyer is a Hearing Instrument Dispenser from Southeast Iowa. She attended several colleges including Parkland College and Indian Hills Community College for her AAS, Buena Vista University for her BA in Psychology and Human Services, and the University of Iowa and Wichita State University for Master’s-level coursework in Social Work. Deb has been in the healthcare field since she was 19 years old. She has held various roles over the years, including positions in medical records, as a research assistant at the University of Iowa, office manager, and counselor at a women’s shelter. She is a member of the International Hearing Society, the Illinois Hearing Society, and the Iowa Hearing Society. Deb spends time with her best friend, Mike, and has 2 children and four granddaughters. She currently resides in Galesburg, Illinois, where she has spent the past 15 years. In her free time, Deb enjoys cooking, sewing, crocheting, and spending time active, outside and with loved ones. She is involved in the Lions Club, Grace Church, and Extraordinary Women through the Galesburg Public Library. Deb has ridden a bicycle 30 miles in Wisconsin, spent a summer riding a horse as an adult after being terrified of them as a child, flown over the mountains of Vermont in a glider, flown over the mountains of Idaho in a small plane, flown in an open cockpit airplane, and has even been hugged by a walrus.
