Doctor of Audiology

Barbara L. Burns is a Dispensing Audiologist for ClearSound. She was born in Dallas, Texas, and was raised in Marshall, Missouri. She attended college at the University of Central Missouri for her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Barbara then went on to receive her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in Philadelphia. She has been an Audiologist for 27 years. She started off with an ENT clinic in Kansas City and has been in private practice as a dispensing audiologist for the last 19 years. Barb has one daughter, Haylee, and currently lives in Marshall, where she has lived for the past 18 years. She is on the board with MU Extension in Saline County, Missouri and is on the Board for the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra as the Grant Writer. In her free time, Barbara also plays cello in her local Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as handbells with her church. Over the last year, she has started camping and kayaking, something she has never done before but began to fall in love with. She has floated Jack’s Fork, Upper and Lower Current, James River, The Niangua River, and the Brazos River in Texas. Her next goal is a two-day float on the Buffalo River in Northern Arkansas.
